Cheezburger Tears :o{

I’m broken hearted… sorta.

There is a great site called “I Can Has Cheezburger?”. You can (and probably HAVE) seen it here on WordPress.com. It is “a site that gathers, organizes, tags, and captions what we hope is the most funny and slightly weird pictures of lolcats and lol* (other animals) from the Internet. All of our lolcats and lol*whatevers are made by u, our userz.” (Quote take from the website ‘About Us’ section.)

At first I TRIED to avoid it, but quickly became an addict. To add insult to injury, I began to upload pictures of my own cats, with my own silly captions. They also have a place to “share” pictures. Basically, you upload your pictures and they are available for anyone to caption and submit. So, it’s lots of fun and I get a million giggles from it… very good for the soul.

My sadness comes from NEVER having one of my “creations” posted. Someone used one of my pictures and made a funny caption – and that got posted. Also, I made one, with a great caption… only to see the caption show up on a different cat, a few days later. It’s not one that required a lot of unique thought (line from a movie)

Don’t get me wrong, the site and its owners have done nothing to wrong me. They rock! I’m sure they get millions of submissions every day. Too many to look at, let alone consider and post. But, my partner and I have submitted an obscene number this week. I’m too embarrassed to say how many… and, well, I just thought that maybe one – just ONE – would show up.

So, I still love the site, site owners, concept, contributors, etc. Just so we have it clear… I hope everyone who reads this will check out the site. If you have taken a look, go take another look! If you have something good, please put it up there. I just wanted one – only one – of my pitiful funnies up for the world to see. No worries, someday I’ll be a star. *wink & a giggle* (Think if they see this they’ll find one I made? hehehe)

Stone Fish

I don’t think I have mentioned my “stoned” friends of the ocean… the deadly Stonefish. They are damn near impossible to see. See? This one is a little easier to see, due to the rusty color. Some are greenish, but for the most part, they are neutral in color, blending into their surroundings.

I am sure that there are different varieties, but one proper name is “Synanceja verrucosa”. It is a carnivorous “ray-finned” fish that has venomous spines. They live on reef bottoms and are the most venomous known fish in the world. (???) Or that’s what I’ve heard, at least.

These are kept as aquarium pets, (!!!) or sold for their meat in places like Hong Kong & Japan. I just can’t quite ordering some “okoze” (sashimi preparation). I don’t want anything that poisonous inside of me… I don’t care if their venom DOES come from their dorsal spines.

Anyway, what made me think of it was my dive yesterday. As soon as I got down on the bottom, there it was… my green rock-ish friend. I guess I see one about every 3 dives or so. Seeing them doesn’t bother me, it’s the thought that they ARE there and I’m just not seeing them!!!

At least I can see the sea snakes (kraits) and lionfish. The lionfish are pretty to look at, at least.

Oh well, more fun stuff to see when diving. I do love it here. Wouldn’t trade it for the world. Now, I’m just trying to find some time to hit the Great Barrier reef. There are a few more deadly critters there too… YEAH! Rock on!
