Hood & Vest

I totally forgot. Can’t believe I haven’t mentioned it here. I got a new 0.5mm  custom hooded vest. It’s totally awesome. The people at Hot Wave in Phuket, Thailand did a great job with my entire order. Thanks guys!

My “colors” for all of my dive stuff are silver, black, and pearly white. (Not stark white and not iridescent.) So, it’s starting to get a little chilly, particularly at the depths I prefer. (The clouds haven’t helped.) That means, time for new gear!

I was going to just go to Phuket and see what we could design, but with other trips coming up and stuff to do, we did it via the ‘net. There was only ONE problem that I hadn’t thought of… until I got under water that is. My head felt funny and I kept turning “head up”. Um, there wasn’t a release hole in the top of my hood. haha

The hood is one that comes up over my chin and down over the skirt of the mask – fitted really well. But, um, because of the fit around my neck and all, when I exhale into my mask (don’t ask.) it blows air into the hood. ROFL So, in effect, I blew up my hood… like a balloon. I need to find someone local who can make the teeny adjustment.

So yeah, my vest is mainly silver, black stripes on the side. Then from the neck up, it’s black, with a wide silver stripe from the top of my forehead to the nape of my neck. It’s super sharp. It complements the other stuff well. I’m scared about the silver though. It seems more delicate than regular covered neoprene. We’ll see.

I am “here”

You know those maps at the mall that have a dot and say “You Are Here”. Well, I talk about where I am and where I’m going so often, that I thought I would show you.

Other things to look for:
** I have circled Macau (Macao), where I will be going next week. 
** There is a small country that I have labeled “Brunei”. The title on the map is the traditional name.
** The portion of Malaysia shown is the eastern portion, which is actually separated from the mainland by water. What you see is Malaysian Borneo.
